![]() NovoSail - Professional sail cleaning and finishing Conventional sail washing cannot meet the demands of modern sails. Cleaning with high pressure washer leads to mechanical strain on the sails and damage the sail surface. Another disadvantage of power washing is that it removes protective coatings, which has a negative effect on the durability and quality of the sail. The globally unique NovoSail system is a completely new concept for cleaning and finishing sails of all types, including laminated sails and other yachting accessories. The HS9000 unit is not only the first, but also the only construction in the world of its kind. It is patented in the EU, in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. The development of this unit made it possible not only to professionally clean sails of high technical quality horizontally, but also to finish them at the same time.
The treatment can extend the life of the sails up to 40%. A new but already proven method
The sail is spread out completely, fed into the machine horizontally and passed through the individual treatment steps. For more than two years, the NovoSail system was developed in collaboration with an international textile technology institute, based on over 150 different sails of all sizes from cruising to regatta sails - and tested extensively before the method was put on the market. In the meantime at our NovoSail branch in Mallorca more than 100,000 m² of sails of all kinds have been cleaned and finished successfully to the complete satisfaction of our customers. The result of treatment:
The cleaning and finishing process The process includes the specific treatment for stains, soaking and pre-washing and main washing in soft water. The sails must be re-impregnated with protective coatings to ensure they are again resistant to climatological and environmental conditions. This is done by applying new finishes such as anti-mildew and special resins to make the sails waterrepellent again. Finally, the process concludes by heat-fixing the applied products and drying the sails. The products used None of the treatment products are harmful to the environment.
