In order to ensure that the sails are re-protected against climatological and environmental conditions after washing, the process applies new finishes against UV rays or mildew marks, for fire protection, etc. and special resins that make the sails water-repellent again. The finishing process is rounded off by heat-fixing these finishes and drying the sails. This finishing process re-protects your sail: the application of new UV protection alone extends the life of sails by on average 40%. |

| No, the gentle treatment does not damage seams, lugs, covers or transparent windows, etc. NovoSail does not use any aggressive chemicals, such as chlorine bleach. The washing brushes we use are soft and do not "scrub" the seams and the cloth. |

| Yes, with the help of specifically developed detergents and the gentle cleaning process, we can clean yacht sails of all kinds. |

| On principle, this is not necessary since our plant has transport rollers with pneumatic bearings which permit fittings to pass through the machine. |

| No, NovoSail does not repair the sails. However, we check the sails for any possible damage and register anything we find. In case of major damage to the sail, NovoSail will contact the customer. Upon request, the sail is then forwarded to a professional partner company for repair before the cleaning and finishing process. We co-operate with many sail manufacturers.

| We have a price per square metre for sails. We measure the sails. You will receive from us an estimate including price, time-to-delivery and any costs for transport and storage. For all other accessory products, such as spinnakers, light wind sails, ropes, tarpaulins, spray hoods, extreme weather clothing, etc. we have prices per kg or per piece. |

| The sails are marked accordingly and are only introduced into the controlled cleaning and finishing process once they are marked. |

| At the moment, NovoSail is looking into the possibility of using various nano-products in finishing. On the basis of the tests we have carried out so far, we do not find the effectiveness of the nano-products tested convincing. However, we will continue our tests and keep an eye on this market. |

| Yes, these are micro-organisms (secretions from very small animals). These stains can be completely removed.

| The entire cleaning and finishing process is not harmful to your sails. We do not use any aggressive products. The temperatures of the various cleaning and finishing baths can be compared to the "coloureds programmes" on a regular washing machine. Your sails will not shrink. |

| On the one hand, the cleaning intervals depend on the degree of contamination and, on the other hand, they depend on the duration of use and the place of use. However, we generally recommend cleaning and finishing after 3 years at the latest since the effectiveness of the UV protection will have decreased drastically by that time. Without UV protection, your sail will age much faster and the fibres of the cloth will be damaged by solar radiation and environmental conditions. |

| No, our cleaning process is environmentally friendly. All products are water-based and were developed in co-operation with multinational chemical companies. |

| Adhesives are a difficult subject. NovoSail has mastered the expertise required to fully remove adhesives. Manual pre-treatment is required for certain adhesives. Many sail numbers and the like are glued onto the sail using adhesives which are not wash-resistant. The characters glued onto the sail can therefore become detached from the sail. |
